Adrian G. Hanna –
I purchased the small windmill about a month ago.
It was adequately packed, I was also surprised at how small it was.
I assembled it and attached it to the roof of my shed and waited
for the wind to blow. The first wind blew at about 10 Mph and the
LED’s turned on with an attractive glow. That night I was surprised
that the device emitted enough light to be quite noticeable as it
illuminated my kitchen from a distance of 40 feet.
Today the 7th January 2020 the wind is blowing (gusting)
at about 60 Mph and the windmill is functioning well. I notice
that it turns out of the wind during excessive gusts, this is a feature
which protects the LED’s from excessive voltage from the generator.
The devices which I build myself do not turn out of the wind as I use
a larger rudder and protect the LED’s with a Zener diode and regulator.
Your system is a perfectly adequate design and performs exactly as
you intended.
The windmill is subject to heavy rain, snow and violent wind and it
just keeps on working.
I hope this is helpful.
